From April 22 to 25, the National Finals of the 3rd National College Student Career Planning Competition were held in Tianjin. Under the joint guidance of Li Zhenhui, Director of the Admissions and Career Guidance Office of HIE; Liang Qiao, Secretary of the Youth League Committee; and Professor Xie Qi from the College of Mechanical Engineering, Wu Yujie, a student from the College of Mechanical Engineering, won the National Bronze Award in the Employment Track of the Higher Education Category and successfully received job offers from two employers on-site at the finals.

The competition was co-sponsored by the Ministry of Education and the Tianjin Municipal People's Government, under the theme "Building Dreams for Youth, Aiming High; Planning for the Future, Navigating the Way." Since its launch in October 2025, the competition attracted 20.55 million registered students from 2,833 universities and colleges. Following rigorous selection through campus and provincial-level competitions, only 798 contestants nationwide advanced to the national finals.
At the national finals, Wu Yujie competed alongside outstanding students from across the country, demonstrating confidence and poise, fully showcasing the spirit and pride of HIE students in "polishing the engineering brand" and "dedicating engineering excellence to the nation." With his clear career planning and solid professional competence, he earned high recognition from employers and received on-site job offers from two companies outside the province.
This award fully reflects the solid achievements of HIE in career planning education and application-oriented talent cultivation. The university will continue to deepen educational and teaching reforms, improve the career guidance and employment service system, guide more students to clarify their career directions and cultivate a sense of commitment to the country, and strive to cultivate high-quality engineering and technical talents.
